Terms of Service

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter into a binding agreement to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

The service

spentr helps you capture receipts, track expenses and mileage, organize business and tax categories, and generate reports. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the App.

Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

Subscriptions and billing

spentr offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription, Spentr Pro, which unlocks additional features such as line-item extraction, batch scanning, Amazon order import, and priority processing.

• Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and managed through your Apple ID account.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store account settings, or through the in-app subscription management option.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store’s policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.

Accuracy and no tax advice

The App uses automated AI to read receipts and suggest categories. This automation can make mistakes, so you are responsible for reviewing and correcting extracted data before relying on it.

spentr is a record-keeping tool only. It does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Mileage rates, tax categories, and report formats are provided for convenience and may not reflect current law. Always verify your records and consult a professional before filing taxes or making financial decisions.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
• Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes the rights of others.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems.
• Abuse, overload, or interfere with the App’s features, including automated or AI processing.

Your content

You retain ownership of the receipts, images, and data you add to the App ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the App to you: including sending receipt images to our AI provider for extraction as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for maintaining your own copies of important records.

Intellectual property

The App, including its software, design, branding, and content (other than Your Content), is owned by Zioty LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App except as permitted by law.

Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services (such as cloud hosting, AI processing, payment, and notification providers). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of those third parties, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT EXTRACTED DATA WILL BE ACCURATE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZIOTY LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zioty LLC and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the App in a way that could harm us or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends, and we may delete your account data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
